London’s iconic Central Saint Martins college just took graduate fashion to a completely new level.
Breaking tradition for its 2026 show, the legendary institution moved away from campus to host a massive runway inside a Peckham multi-storey carpark.
Out of 135 students, 40 were selected to present zero-boundary, eco-friendly collections to a packed industry crowd.
The jaw-dropping designs ranged from Sophia Layk’s zero-plastic, wood-infused creations to Polina Kadilnikova’s politically charged Ukrainian heritage prints, and Luke Saul's stunning dress entirely hand-sewn from four months' worth of upcycled metal cans.
Axiom Space and Prada unveiled the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG) designed to be worn by astronauts inside the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU) spacesuit. Engineered as the high-performance inner layer of the AxEMU, the LCVG is built to protect astronauts from the unforgiving environment of space, when they explore the lunar surface for the first time in more than 50 years. The LCVG collaboration draws on Prada's expertise in design, patternmaking, and advanced materials, resulting in a next-generation garment developed through advanced 3D modeling techniques that maintain cooling and ventilation while enhancing comfort during up to eight-hour spacewalks. Prada's firmly established knowledge of high-performance materials has also supported the identification and sourcing of specialized fibers that allow the garment to be worn repeatedly and comfortably across long-duration missions.

“Costume Art” explores depictions of the dressed body across The Met’s vast collection, pairing garments with artworks to reveal the inherent relationship between clothing and the body.
Focusing primarily on Western art from prehistory to the present, “Costume Art” presents connections between garments from The Costume Institute and objects from the Museum’s other collecting areas. Pairings between fashions and artworks will present a spectrum of connections and experiences: from the formal to the conceptual, the aesthetic to the political, the individual to the universal, the illustrative to the symbolic, and the playful to the profound. These pairings are organized into a series of thematic body types that reflect their pervasiveness and endurance through time and cultures.
“Costume Art” is the inaugural exhibition in the new, nearly 12,000-square-foot galleries adjacent to the Great Hall. This space will display The Costume Institute’s annual spring show and, at times, shows from the Museum’s other curatorial departments, including those that explore the intersection of fashion and art.
