'Shakespear, Drayton and Ben Jhonson had a merry meeting and, itt seems, drank too hard, for Shakespear died of a feavour there contracted.'

These words inspired Irish poet Shaun Traynor to write this remarkable poem.
Shaun’s poem re-creates that “merry meeting” and places it in the Bell Inn, Welford-upon-Avon on the evening of the 22nd, April 1616 .
